Today we did some creative writing through Quick Writes. Students were given random topics and asked to write a creative story, weaving in the topic given. They wrote for 3 minutes, then were given 2 minutes to share with a friend. They had fun showing off their creativity and working on writing skills.

Congratulations to all of my instant winners! I think every class has had at least one instant winner already! If you have any items you would like to donate as prizes, please let me know.
Students practiced identifying the elements of plot in Rikki-tikki-tavi today. We also practiced identifying pronouns and antecedents in sentences.
I have started our own Classroom Instant Winners with Tiger Paws. If you have any items you feel the kids would like and you are willing to donate it to a good cause, please let me know.
One of our objectives from when we read "Thank You, M'am" was to correctly punctuate possessives. This has been a bit more challenging than I anticipated and is taking a bit longer than I originally planned, but we are making great progress!
Students need to finish the questions and vocabulary over "Rikki-tikki-tavi". They were given all hour in class to do this but several students needed to finish reading the story first (this was their homework from last weekend).
